After the wave of arrests that affected activists in the Progressive Socialist Party because of their criticismof the President of the Republic and the Covenant, Former MP Walid Jomblatt replied on twitter saying: “The presidency should rest assured, the more that it, along its men, arrests us, the more hatred will grow towards the government forces and gangs.”

He continued: “No gentlemen, the country cannot be governed by oppression, tyranny, theft, and through hunger. It is every citizen’s right to freely express their opinions. Your language and statements are no better than those of whom had had enough. Teach your own civility first.”
